Cordae Reveals The Famous Friends He Sent His New Album To Before It Was Released

by Daryl Nelson

There's been a lot of eyes on Cordae since he dropped his Grammy-nominated album The Lost Boy in 2019. He followed that project up with his EP Just Until in 2021.

The 24-year-old rapper is now back with his highly anticipated LP From a Birds Eye View. Some of the guest features include Eminem, Gunna, Lil Wayne, Lil Durk, Roddy Ricch, H.E.R., and Stevie Wonder.

During a recent interview with Zane Lowe, Cordae talked about the famous people he sent the album to before it was released. He also talked about his goal for this project as well as others.

“I sent it to CP3, to Chris Paul. I sent it to Dave Chappelle. I sent it to Colin Kaepernick,” Cordae revealed. “All of who are like very good friends of mine. Not really nervous, just more so… they’ll send me like some sneakers or something exclusive before it comes out, always. But so I just like to return the favor.”

"[The album] only [has] 12 songs and two of those are interludes," he added. "I just want to make a cohesive body of work that I can stand upon. And 20 years from now, 10 years from now and be proud of and be happy about."

Have you listened to the album yet? If so, what are your thoughts?
