Controversial J. Cole Lyric Removed From Drake's 'Jodeci Freestyle'

Among the tracks on Drake's new loosie project Care Package is the 2013 J. Cole assisted "Jodeci Freestyle."

In the original version of the song, Cole spits "Go check the numbers, dummy, that’s just me gettin' started/ I’m artistic, you n---as is autistic, retarded."

The use of the words "autistic" and "retarded" got a big backlash at the time and both Cole and Drake apologized for their inclusion.

“In a recent verse on the song ‘Jodeci Freestyle,’ I said something highly offensive to people with Autism," Cole wrote on his Dreamville website. "Last week, when I first saw a comment from someone outraged about the lyric, I realized right away that what I said was wrong. I was instantly embarrassed that I would be ignorant enough say something so hurtful. What makes the crime worse is that I should have known better."

So it's no big surprise that both words are removed from the version of "Jodeci Freestyle" on Care Package, which clocks in at 20 seconds shorter than the original. Check it out below.
