The Congressional Black Caucus is demanding that A$AP Rocky be released from his Swedish jail cell.
Rocky has been locked up for almost three weeks after getting caught on tape body-slamming a young Swede in a Stockholm street fight that involved A$AP's traveling entourage
According to Rocky's peeps and some video evidence, the youth and his friend were harassing Rocky and female passerbys.
Us Representative Hakeen Jeffries (D-Brooklyn) spoke on Rocky's plight:
"It appears that the Hip Hop police for years have been targeting rappers in New York and in other parts of the country have now shown the world that it's not just a United States phenomenon," Jeffries said. "The situation with A$AP Rock is unfortunate it's outrageous. You can expect that members of Congress, particularly those of use who are part of the Congressional Black Caucus, are going to continue to weigh in forcefully until ASAP Rocky is free.”
The State Department has also expressed concern over Rocky's treatment. If A$AP isn't charged by Friday, Swedish prosecutors need to get another extension to keep him locked up. If he is charged, he faces up to six years.
