Back in 2020, Staten Island rapper CJ was riding high.

He had a hit song called "Whoopty" and landed a deal with Warner Bros. But just nine months later, CJ left the label, which he talked about with VladTV.

“I only had one song at the time when I signed with them," said CJ, who was called a fake Blood after his hit song dropped. "I only had 'Whoopty’ and that was their main focus. Obviously, what label wouldn’t want another ‘Whoopty?’ So they were looking for that and a ‘Whoopty’ record, it comes once in a lifetime or once in a career. We started off with ‘Whoopty’ and we tried to develop me as an artist. We had our differences with the label and we decided to part ways. I’m going to leave it at that.”

Are you surprised to hear that CJ walked away from his deal after just nine months?
