Chuck D is part of one of five hip hop acts enshrined in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Tupac Shakur, who was just nominated for the Hall in his first year of eligibility, is likely to be the sixth -- and first solo artist.
However, the Public Enemy front man thinks another rapper should get that honor.
He explains who and why:
Got forever love for PAC BUT there AINT a solo rap act that should get in the RRHOF before @llcoolj I Dont care about what naysayers think— Chuck D (@MrChuckD) October 20, 2016
When @llcoolj entered the rap game there was NOTHING close to the blizzard he came in the game with.1 dude rearranged records & performance— Chuck D (@MrChuckD) October 20, 2016
I come with the facts that'll break your gdamn back. Been around HipHop 40 years 105 countries 7 continent & seas & I ain't ever been drunk— Chuck D (@MrChuckD) October 20, 2016
Check your phones- NO need to SOC MED guessin at fact. You just cant STIR up history on a big pot of hype with a big stick of emotion only.— Chuck D (@MrChuckD) October 21, 2016
.@MizzDiamond16 @llcoolj Nice opinion but I knew them both. There was NOBODY like LL when he emerged, PAC improved as he got seasoned.— Chuck D (@MrChuckD) October 21, 2016
