Chief Keef Says He Invented Mumble Rap After Much Older Rapper Had Claimed It

by Daryl Nelson

In December of last year, The Roots' Black Thought said he invented mumble rap, but now Chief Keef is taking credit for it.

On Tuesday the Chicago rapper sent a tweet asking his fans if they love him for creating what's now considered an official rap subgenre.

Do you guys love me for creating Mumble???

Is Keef right? Should he be given credit for creating the mumble rap style? Or did 46-year-old Roots rapper Black Thought come up with the Genre. You can see a few reactions to his tweet below.
