Check The First Week Projections For Kodak Black's 'Painting Pictures'

By HHL Editors

Kodak Black didn't let being locked up prevent him from dropping his debut album Painting Pictures last week.

Was the public buying what he's selling?

According to Hits Daily Double, Painting Pictures is expected to move between 43-47k in its opening week. That should be good for fifth place on an album chart that is topped by Drake's More Life ( 130-135k) for the third straight week.

How does that compare with other recent debut albums?

Migos's 2015 debut YRN moved an embarrassing 14K in its first week. (They recovered with their follow up Culture.)  That same year Travis Scott's Rodeo did 90K and Fetty Wap's self titled debut did 129K. In January of 2016, Kevin Gates's Islah moved 112K.

More recently, Post Malone's Stoney had a 58K opening week.
