Sad news from the world of comedy.
Charlie Murphy died this morning of leukemia. The 57 year old had been undergoing chemotherapy, but his passing "shocked" family members who thought he was getting better.
He was Tweeting just last night:
One to Sleep On: Release the past to rest as deeply as possible.
— Charlie Murphy (@charliemurphy) April 12, 2017
Murphy was the older brother of Eddie Murphy and a successful comic in his own right.
He was most famous for co-staring on The Dave Chappelle Show, and he also co-wrote the Eddie Murphy films Norbit and Vampire In Brooklyn.
Murphy recently toured with Cedric the Entertainer, Eddie Griffin, George Lopez and D.L. Hughley on The Comedy Get Down.
Let's pour one out for a guy who made us laugh, and remember some of his classic bits.
