Charles Hamilton Signs With Republic Records; New Single Debuting on 'Empire'

Since Charles Hamilton was dropped from  Interscope in 2009, he's kept a pretty low profile . Today, through a press release, the 27-year old re-emerges with a deal under Republic Records.

"Charles is back and the excitement for his return is immeasurable. The enthusiasm in the marketplace is overwhelming and we are thrilled to participate in the evolution of his career," said Republic executive Monte Lipman.
Additionally, Charles' new Rita Ora featured single "New York Raining' will be on the season finale of Fox's Empire.  There's no word on if it'll just be played, or if the Sonic-The-Hedgehog-loving rapper will be appearing on the show to debut it.

Do you think Charles Hamilton has a chance to make a comeback this year? It seems appropriate to revisit his 2009 cut 'Charles Hamilton Is Back.'
