Charlamagne Tha God Speaks On Nearly Fighting Busta Rhymes

by Daryl Nelson

Busta Rhymes and Charlamagne tha God almost got into a fight in 2012.

Charlamagne talked about it on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast and said he regrets it.

Busta was apparently upset because the New York radio host called his freestyle over Kanye West and Jay-Z's "Otis" beat wack.

So, Busta approached him at Melanie Fiona's party in Los Angeles, which was held after the BET Awards. [Go to the 157:06-mark]

“So, it was Busta Rhymes and DMX — God bless the dead — on the ‘Otis’ beat, but I gave him ‘Donkey of the Day’ for no reason,” Charlamagne recalled. “It really was for no reason. Busta said, ‘You know me. You know me dude. You know me.' I said, ‘Ah sh*t.’ [He then said], ‘Alright, you know what this about.’"

"You a dude who used to be hot but your sh*t wack now,’" Charlamagne remembered telling the rapper. "Busta said, ‘You better stop this tough guy sh*t before I f*ck you up in here.’ I’m drunk as sh*t. I’m like, ‘I’ma f*ck you up.’ I said, ‘We gonna fight in this motherf*cker’ or something. Then Busta’s people came, my people came and they just broke us up.”

Charlamagne also once said he regrets his past beef with Nicki Minaj.
