Charlamagne Tha God Breaks Down Why Angela Yee Really Left 'The Breakfast Club'

Last year Angela Yee announced that she was leaving "The Breakfast Club." Her last day on the show was in early December 2022.

Charlamagne tha God recently spoke with VladTV about her departure and said there's no scandal involved.

“I think people want it to be something salacious but it’s not,” he explained. “She left ‘Breakfast Club’ because she got the opportunity to do her own nationally syndicated show. Way Up with Angela Yee is a nationally syndicated show … I think that would be hard for anybody to pass up."

But according to what Yee told Tamron Hall earlier this year, there was more behind her decision to leave.

“Sometimes I would feel like I got it harder than [Charlamagne Tha God] did for some things that he said," she explained then. "You say what you say, feel how you feel, and I do too. But it’s hard because people affiliate you with the whole group ... That was part of why I really wanted to have my own show because now what happens, I’m accountable for that."
