Charlamagne Strikes Back At Iman Shumpert, Calls Him 'Wack Rapper'

by HHL Editors

New York Knick Iman Shumpert has been moonlighting as a rapper. He even received a bunch of attention this week for his diss record "#HowToHate."

In the track, the swingman goes after Breakfast Club radio hosts Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy.

"Tell Charlamagne when he see me better holla at me, hater / Envy betta holla at me / Cause I don’t do the fake shit / I bet they listen when they name in it," he raps.

Shumpert explained that line to TMZ: "I feel that when cameras are rolling Charlamagne and Envy will say anything for ratings and then behind the scenes will try and whisper that it's just a job and they don't mean any harm."

Charlamagne has now responded to Shumpert accusation that he is a phony, and he even brings Shumpert's boo into it when he does.

"I think Iman Shumpert just needs to be somewhere focusing on his offense and defense," Charlamagne said. "And not be so defensive and take so much offense when I criticize his rap skills...His girlfriend, Teyana Taylor, who is a good friend of mine, I told her the other day, maybe two days ago that I thought he was a wack rapper. And she put me in a headlock. So, I guess she went back and told him. So, he decided to record a diss record."
The question becomes, is Shumpert a wack rapper? (And is Charlamagne a phony?) Listen to the track and let us know what you think.
