Chance The Rapper said that Kanye West tried to remove a line of his from his "Ultralight Beam Light" feature on Ye's The Life of Pablo album.
“I met Kanye West, I’m never going to fail / He said, ‘Let’s do a good ass job with ‘Chance 3' / I hear you gotta sell it to snatch the Grammy,'” Chano rapped in the song.
It's not clear why Ye wanted the line removed and Chance argued over it
"I rapped on Kanye’s sh*t right before it came out that I was working on these three Grammys and I was like, ‘If I keep rapping like that and just saying sh*t’s gonna happen, that’s just gonna happen.' And it started happening," Chance told the Grammys. "Kanye didn’t want me to say that [line] on that song, and I had to go back and forth with him about keeping my line on there.”
Chance has often talked about Ye being his idol and one of the reasons he began rapping. But the two seem to have a contentious relationship since Ye was seen screaming at him earlier this year.
Do you find it strange that Kanye wanted Chance to remove that Grammy line from "Ultralight Beam?"
