Chance The Rapper Explains Why He Turned Down a McDonald's Super Bowl Ad

by Daryl Nelson

Shortly after McDonald’s partnered with Travis Scott and gave him his own meal, it's been announced that the company teamed up with reggaeton star J Balvin. Balvin also has his own meal, which is a Big Mac, fries and Oreo McFlurry.

Talk of the new partnership made its way to Twitter, where Chance The Rapper said that he almost shot a Super Bowl ad for McDonald’s but it never happened.

I was supposed to do a superbowl commercial with them. They played wit the money and when I said no, they hired a fake me. 😒😒

After Chance sent his tweet about almost working with the fast-food chain, an old McDonald's ad re-surfaced, possibly the same one that he referenced. The 2017 ad shows one guy rapping in front of a live band and one can easily say he comes off like a fake Chance.

Why do you think so many people are willing to buy a McDonald's meal just because a celebrity's name is attached to it?
