Chance The Rapper Discloses Exactly What Apple Paid Him For 'Coloring Book'

by HHL Editors

The streaming wars are back in the news this week, thanks to Drake's upcoming project More Life.

It was initially reported that Apple Music would get a two week streaming exclusive on the playlist. However, somebody -- possibly Cash Money's exclusive hating parent group Universal -- pushed back on that, and now it looks like More Life will be available on all streaming formats tomorrow.

Today, Chance The Rapper jumped on Twitter and explained exactly how much money Apple had given him last year to get a two week exclusive on his mixtape Coloring Book.

I never felt the need to correct folks on my relationship with @apple but now that more people have tried to discredit my independence..

That was the extent of my deal, after 2 weeks it was on SoundCloud for free. I needed the money and they're all good people over there https://t.co/5kIhv0YaKS

I think artist can gain a lot from the streaming wars as long as they remain in control of their own product. https://t.co/6agVO3uIdf

I just wanna remain transparent. Folks out there without a deal need to know they're doing everything right just keep at it. https://t.co/5udstMPX62

So if Apple threw half a mil at Coloring Book, what do you think they were willing to pay for More Life?
