Chance The Rapper Calls Out Fortnite For Not Paying Rappers For Their Dance Moves

by HHL JT

One of the ways Fortnite makes money is selling "emotes" of dance moves.

Some of the moves are from rappers, like BlocBoy JB's "Shoot" dance and 2Milly's "Milly Rock".

Chance The Rapper says BlocBoy, Milly and the rest should get paid for their motion through their music.

Fortnite should put the actual rap songs behind the dances that make so much money as Emotes. Black creatives created and popularized these dances but never monetized them. Imagine the money people are spending on these Emotes being shared with the artists that made them

I also would just rather watch them dance to a real song lol

I would love to be able to buy Hype and also be purchasing Look Alive or buy “Swipe” and be buying it from both @FortniteGame AND 2Milly https://t.co/eUgKksJzIY

What do you think about Chance's tweet?

As you can see from the video below, if Fortnite paid the inspirations for their Emotes (which probably isn't going to happen) it would line the pockets of more than just Hip Hop or black creatives. Mike Myers, Joaquin Phoenix (or, really, the movie studios) and many other pop culture figures would be getting paid, too.
