by HHL JT

Bronny James's Sierra Canyon high school basketball team traveled east to play Maryland powerhouse DeMatha in this year's DMV Showcase.

The game ended midway through the fourth quarter with DeMatha up 52-51 after a gun scare in the crowd sent the Sierra Canyon team running off the court.

Weird scene in D.C. at Wise High against DeMatha. The game was stopped early.

Sierra Canyon (playing as CBC) ran off the court. Sources are saying a fight broke out in the stands and “gun” was yelled, which prompted the frantic ending.pic.twitter.com/DAQ45v0A7x

There is no video evidence a gun was pulled and eyewitnesses say the event that triggered the hysteria was a fight between two kids who looked to be around 12.

Nevertheless, the rest of the tournament was canceled.

"Given the incident in the stands tonight during the CBC vs. Stags game at Wise High School, we have cancelled Sunday’s event. We are making the decision out of the utmost of caution to ensure player and fan safety. Refunds will be available via Go Fan," read a statement from the tournament organizers.
