Bridget Kelly Trends After Calling Eminem "Token White Guy"

by HHL JT

R&B singer Bridget Kelly is into everything about the upcoming Super Bowl halftime show but Eminem.

“I love the idea of so much beautiful Black talent on this stage,” she said about the Dr. Dre, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, and Mary J. Blige featured event. “This is the biggest stage in the country. This is the most-watched event.”

Then she was reminded Eminem was pretty prominently on the bill.

“Either way, I would love to see it because when are we ever gonna see Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg and Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar onstage together? I could do without Eminem. I don’t really care whether he’s there or not.”

“Do you know what I do love about Eminem being the token white guy on this? Usually it’s the other way around. “Usually it’s a whole fucking lineup of white talent and then it’s like, let’s just throw a person of color in there so people don’t get upset. Let’s not ruffle feathers," she said.

You can see some of the pushback to her strange remarks above.

She then dug a deeper hole in her response to the criticism of her halftime show, claiming there's has never been an all-Black halftime show but forgetting that last year The Weeknd was the only halftime show performer. [Perhaps the light-skinned Kelly doesn't consider a mixed-race Canadian Black.]

You bum ass bottom feeders need to get tf out my mentions defending Eminem. Nobody said he wasn’t a legend. They’ve never had an all Black halftime show, so yes, he is the token in this case. Go argue w/your mother about his impact, that was never up for debate. Losers😂

Eminem has yet to respond, and wouldn't do so quickly or on social media.
