Boi-1da Speaks On Drake's Work Ethic & Ghostwriter Usage

By HHL Editors

Boi-1da has been on the boards for some of Drake's biggest hits.

In a new interview, the producer defends his fellow Canadian against charges that he relies heavily on ghostwriters.

"I've really seen this guy write a song like he's writing an essay. He's sitting there researching what he's rapping about. Anyone trying to discredit him being a songwriter or being a lyricist, this is bullshit. This is music. People collaborate ... If you're trying to discredit Drake from being a songwriter, your'e an idiot. I've literally seen that guy spend months on a song. Busting his brain trying to figure out the best things to say. The best ways to sing the song ... As for him having a ghostwriter, that's bullshit."
Boi-1da goes on to call Drake "one of the greatest writers ever."
