Bobby Shmurda Charged For Having Prison Shank

Bobby Shmurda and Rowdy Rebel were in Manhattan Supreme Court this morning for a pre-trial hearing on  drugs, guns, and attempted murder charges.

The judge set a trial date of October 5th for Shmurda, Rebel and four other GS9 co-defendants. During the hearing, the prosecutor recommended eight years in jail for Shmurda and seven for Rebel.

This pleased Shmurda's lawyer Kenneth Montgomery:

"I’m surprised by the recommendation he told XXL. "Especially as they’ve been dragging these kids up here like they’re Public Enemy No. 1."
But it wasn't all good news for the 'Hot Nigga' rapper. It was revealed in court that he was arrested yesterday on charges of receiving a "sharpened metal instrument," a class D felony

The prison shank charge won't be part of Shmurda's October 5th trial, or the recommended eight years. But it's another thing the current Rikers Island inmate will have to deal with legally.
