BMF Co-Founder Big Meech Gets His Release date

by HHL JT

BMF co-founders Big Meech and his brother Southwest T were sentenced to 30 years in 2008 for running a large-scale drug empire.

T got out in 2020 because of COVID.  There was talk Meech would also get a compassionate release, but it never happened.

Meech was initially slated for release in May of 2028.  This week, a judge shortened his sentence by 32 months, which gets him out next year.

The reduction came from a new federal criminal code clause allowing inmates serving time on fewer than six infractions to petition for early release.

Meech and BMF's profile has never been higher, thanks to 50 Cent's BMF series on Starz.

On the show, Lil Meech plays his dad.

Last year, Lil Meech described what Big Meech doesn't like about his portrayal.

"Not so much as far as acting, but he don’t really like seeing stuff that he don’t do. So, even if it's like, me wearing my shoestrings lose.  He like, 'N*gga, why you got your shoe strings tied up. I ain't ever wear my shoes like that," he said, and then explained the TV situation in prison. "Another thing he hated, which is so funny, I'm tell you all, remember when the plug punched me in the stomach? He was mad. He was like I ain't never got hit. Punch me in the stomach? Nobody ever beat me up.'"
