Birdman Didn't Show Up In Court And Now He Has To Pay Turk

by HHL Editors

Earlier this year, Turk sued Cash Money and Money Mack Music for $1.3 million in unpaid royalties.

Birdman didn't respond to the suit by the March 11 deadline, and then ignored it again after his attorneys bought him a one month extension.

So earlier this week Turk's lawyer filed a default motion, which would award Turk a settlement without a trial.

Today, the former Hot Boy jumped on Instagram and said he won the motion, and will soon be $1.3 million richer.

It could be that Birdman knew Turk was going to win the case, so he decided rather than waste too much of his lawyers' time he'd just make Turk sweat it out and eventually default. But that doesn't explain why he bothered to ask for that extension.

So maybe Cash Money is in disarray, financially or otherwise.

We're pretty certain they won't default on Lil Wayne's $51 million case against them, though.

Update: Turk won't necessarily get the $1.3 million he is asking. By granting default, the judge will determine the final amount. The defendants (Birdman, etc.) could also try to have this settlement vacated by coming up with a credible excuse as to why they missed all the court deadlines.
