Big Gipp Breaks Down Why Ludacris Doesn't Get Respect In Atlanta

by HHL JT

Ludacris is one of the most successful rappers of all time, both on wax and in the movies.

But he doesn't get the same love in his hometown of Atlanta as Outkast or even a Future.

Big Gipp of Goodie Mob thinks he knows why.  He broke it down on Art of Dialogue.

"But I feel that when you go to New York and try to be New York friend, you get unrecognized," Gipp said of Luda, after he listed his "impecable" resume. " When you say, 'f*ck that, I don't need your friendship, respect me', then they have to check how they deal with you.  See, we never played friend to the industry.  We was only friends to our peers and our counterparts in the game."

Gip went on to say that the industry and New York disrespects the South, but the South doesn't care because it has its own ecosystem.

Luda, Gip suggests, betrayed that ecosystem when he looked north.
