Big Daddy Kane Declares Eminem Is The Kobe Bryant Of Rap

by HHL JT

Big Daddy Kane reflected upon the life and death of Kobe Bryant on  Cherie's World podcast.

"I had the opportunity to meet the brother once," Kane said of Kobe. "It was crazy, the said he was cocky and arrogant. So when I met him, I was a little standoffish.  And he was like, 'my man such and such played some of your stuff for me.  I used to tell him such and such was the greatest rapper, and he was like yo you need to listen to Big Daddy Kane and played my some your stuff and I started buying your stuff.' I was just like wow like amazed.  So I had nothing but the utmost respect for the young brother.

Earlier in the chat, it had been established that JAY-Z was the Michael Jordan of rap and Kane was the Dr. J.  When Kane was asked who he thinks the rap game Kobe Bryant is, he anointed Eminem.

"What's the generation after Jay," Kane wonder for a sec. It would be Eminem," he concluded.
