We don't hear all that much from Benzino these days. 

And what we just heard is not good.

We've learned that the 53-year-old was arrested in January of 2017 for felony possession of THC oil gummies (22 grams), felony possession of 6 MDMA pills and misdemeanor possession of less than an ounce of weed after cops searched his apartment.

His legal team has been trying to argue that the search was illegal since, but a judge just put an end to that and his case will go to trial shortly.

If he doesn't take a plea, he'll be facing up to 15 years in prison.

In January of 2015, Benzino was arrested at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport after trying to take a gun on a plane.

That was shortly after he was fired from Love & Hip Hop Atlanta for making death threats against Stevie J and after he was shot in the shoulder by his nephew at his mother's funeral.
