Beast Coast Concert Cancelled After Shooting Threat

Sunday's Beast Coast show at the Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill in Sterling Heights, Michigan was cancelled after a shooting threat.

Sheriff Anthony Wickersham of Macomb County said a caller made threats to the Sterling Heights and Auburn Hills police departments about the show. Authorities didn't want to take any chances, especially in light of the recent shootings in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio.

“Obviously in today’s world and things going on recently, we have to take each threat seriously,” Sheriff Wickersham told a local news outlet. “We were going to put additional deputies and undercover officers in and around the venue, and later this afternoon I found out the event was canceled.”
