Azealia Banks Mocks Beyonce and JAY-Z For Trying To Pull Off Country Music "Grift"

by HHL JT

Beyonce used the Super Bowl to announce her new album, Renaissance Act II.

She also dropped two singles, the country-tinged "16 Carriages" and "Texas Hold 'Em".

Act II, part of a trilogy, is expected to explore the country genre.

Azealia Banks doesn't think it will work and called out Beyonce and JAY-Z for trying to grift and bully their way into country music legitimacy.  She also believes Bey's foray into the genre won't be as successful as K. Michelle's attempt to do the same.

"Ugh Bianca girl I love you down but them r&b runs over the leslie feist back beats is giving pickmesha ... Nothing country about it," Banks typed.  "You're setting yourself up to be ridiculed again.  There's a theatrical element to country music!!! Them critics are not just going to accept an ugly blond wig and bullying from jay-z!!  It's giving big time musical grift.  Yes black girls can make country music ... but you're just really not hitting the button.  K. michelle this is your turn to really execute.  It's no shade but K Michelle truly understands the assignment.  Beyonce please stop the madness  The gay baiting, the overly narcissistic attempt to lazily encroach into a genre *you think* your popularity is gonna gain accolades for you in ... You're looking like food sis.  You will gag when k Michelle tears it."

Is this correct, or is Azealia hating again?
