Akon to Build Another City

by HHL JT

Last year, we learned that Akon was building a city in his home country of Senegal.

"Akon City" would use a cryptocurrency also named after the singer/rapper.

While that project is still in its early stages, it looks like the idea is catching on.

Yesterday, it was announced Akon is building a second Akon City in Uganda.

During a press conference, Akon addressed whether the people of Uganda, one of the poorest countries in the world, could afford the amenities in his city.

"I know if I put it there, they're going to find a way to afford it because it's going to motivate them. But ultimately when you create an opportunity, people grow with that opportunity, people learn with that opportunity, people are motivated with that opportunity," Akon said.

Do you think Akon can pull off multiple cities?
