Akon Admits He Gave French Montana Fake Hubolt Watch

A few years back, French Montana accused Akon of gifting him a fake Hublot watch.

"It wasn't iced out," French said of the gift. "And you know, I like sh*t with diamonds. So a took it to my jeweler and was like, 'yo can you switch it for me. Akon gave it to me for my birthday.' He looked at me and was like 'What you mean? Akon did not give you this, my guy ... So I'm like, yo, either my jeweler's playing with me or Akon made a mistake. So I just called him. Still waiting for the real one."

In his interview with The Cruz Show, Akon acknowledged he gave French a fake watch.  But it was because he didn't know any better.

“I get the watch, I put it on.  I said 'look what I got for you. ' He was happy, I was happy. We lit, we lit. Now mind you I’m not really knowing there’s specific brands in watches and all that, I wasn’t really a watch guy. I just saw something I liked that looked nice and I got it. French clearly went to his jeweler, right, and got it checked out, and the jeweler was like, ‘Yo, this is fake.’” 'What do you mean fake? I was like, what do you mean fake.'  The sh*t tick, don’t it? The sh*t work, right," Akon remembered.

Akon then explained that he had no idea we has buying a specific Hublot.  He just thought it was a good-looking watch that French would appreciate.

“Not only was I upset because I paid, like, five grand for each watch, but in my mind that was expensive for a watch. But obviously, for a Hublot that was no money, that was real a huge discount. But I didn't even now I was getting a discount So I’m like, ‘This ungrateful ass n*gga.'”
