The adidas XENO 'Black Pack' collection is slated to drop February 13th, the first day of All-Star weekend. The new pack features the classic ZX Flux, Superstar, and Metro Attitude Hi silhouettes with a new twist.
Taking a fresh approach to the ubiquitous snakeskin found in the sneaker market, this pack's new colorway incorporates an iridescent feature that is inspired by a species of snakes found in Southeast Asia and makes these kicks fire. When hit with direct light, the shoes appear colorful.
“We knew we wanted to do something for All-Star in NY, and we often look into our history and heritage. We looked at the Metro Attitude because it was truly the first special make-up that adi did as a brand for New York – we wanted to revisit that story because it’s so strong. The Attitude is one of the first sneakers with snake on it, so we wanted to take that history, twist it and tweak it, and push it forward. We were doing some research on snake and we came across this Southeast Asian species and we saw how it caught light and reacted to light, and we felt it represented the same way bright lights are a part of New York City.
