Action Bronson In Rape Lyric Row

By HHL Editors

Action Bronson is scheduled to headline Toronto's North By Northeast music festival, which runs from June 17-21.

However, over 35,000 internet user have signed a digital petition to remove him from the festival because of his 2011 track 'Consensual Rape'.

Action bronson glorifies gang-raping and murdering women," reads the petition. "It is an insult to the people of Toronto for NXNE, Now Magazine, Vans Footwear, and the City of Toronto to be featuring an artist on public property whose lyrics are as follows: "Then dig your shorty out cuz I geeked her up on molly Have her eating dick, no need for seasoning If seven dudes are in the room then she's pleasing them Like a trooper. Hit her in the pooper. Throw her in the shower Then I take her out to Lupa I'm kinky, I'll hit it even if it's stinky Put em in the shower, make the pussy brand new Ran through. Give 'em money what I can't do Stuff her lunchbox & burn her with the candle"
Bronson responded to controversy with these tweets.

He ended up deleting them, but they were replaced with a bunch of Tweets in this vein:

So far concert organizers are sticking with Bronson. But Toronto's mayor John Tory turned up the heat yesterday by saying he didn't believe Action's inclusion in the festival was consistent with the venue's policy.

"As a person, I find the trend toward this kind of disrespectful -- you might even argue it's abusive -- language to be astonishing and very disturbing," Tory said.

Concert organizers have said they were going to provide an update to Bronson's status today.

Hmm, we think we may know where Drake gets some of his famous sensitivity from.
