Aaron Hernandez's Alleged Gay Prison Lover Issues Statement

by HHL Editors

Earlier this week, Kyle Kennedy was unmasked as Aaron Hernandez's alleged gay prison lover.

A statement issued today by Kennedy's lawyer Larry Army Jr. acknowledged a "friendship" between his client and Hernandez, as well as the existence of a letter Hernandez left for Kennedy -- that neither Kennedy nor Army has seen yet.

Army also said that his client is not on suicide watch, as had been reported. But he does concede that the 22-year old was moved to a protective unit after Hernandez's suicide.

This confirmation of a letter between Hernandez and Kennedy contradicts Hernandez's lawyer Jose Baez's multiple denials that such a letter exists. Beaz addressed the discrepancy in a statement.

Beaz also dismissed Kennedy's claims in an interview with TMZ.

"Our team is doing serious legal work. We don’t have the time to stop our efforts and respond to every convicted felon that has something to say about Aaron Hernandez," Beaz said. "Quite frankly I’m surprised more inmates have not come forward to make money off the media."
Update: Army has provided more details of Hernandez and Kennedy's relationship.

From Yahoo!:

Notably, Kennedy and Hernandez apparently knew one another “through correspondence” prior to Kennedy’s incarceration, but Army did not elaborate. In September 2016, the two had requested to be matched as cellmates; while the request was initially approved, prison officials later rejected it. The prison seeks to match cellmates by size and race, Army said, and Hernandez and Kennedy were not the same size
Army added that he doesn't want to address the exact nature of Kennedy and Hernandez's friendship, because his client "wants the words about this relationship to come from his mouth."

Kennedy is scheduled to be released in February 2018.
