A$AP Ferg Talks Nicki Minaj's the Barbz Blaming Him for 'Move Ya Hips' Not Doing Better

by Daryl Nelson

When A$AP Ferg's single "Move Ya Hips," featuring Nicki Minaj and MadeinTYO opened up at number 19 on the charts, it was the Harlem rapper's biggest debut.

But Nicki Minaj's passionate fanbase, the Barbz, thought the song should have opened up at number one, and they accused Ferg of not submitting sales numbers to Billboard.

Soon after, "#Asapfergisoverparty" starting floating around online, which Ferg addressed during an interview with Complex. He also gave the Barbz credit for being so loyal.

“Why wouldn’t I want this song to go number one?” said Ferg. “There’s no such thing as giving in your sales to Billboard. They collect that themselves. I don’t know who gave them that information. I’m a huge fan and pleased to work with someone like Nicki, so that’s an opportunity that I wouldn’t even want to mess up for myself. And you know, that’s the best way to describe them: Super passionate. I don’t fault them for that. They’re just super passionate, and I love it.”
