50 Cent Explains Why He Doesn't Need To Drop A New Album To Stay Relevant

by Daryl Nelson

You've surely noticed that 50 Cent is able to constantly making headlines even though he hasn't dropped new music in some time. His last album was 2014's Animal Ambition

He's been successful at executive producing television shows, so he's stayed relevant that way. Fif weighs in on a lot of the social media shenanigans that take place in and out of Hip Hop, which is another way he keeps his name buzzing.

In a new interview on Ebro In The Morning, 50 explained why he doesn't have to drop a new album to connect with his audience. [Jump to the 40:56 mark]

“If I give [my fans] an EP and they feel it's a monster, if I call it a soundtrack and I put five or six songs of my material inside it and they love it, I’ll still have the same gratification," he explained.  "I’m on tour right now, I just did Prague last night, the O2 [Arena] sold out. I do it again tonight. You see what I’m saying?  I’m on a world tour right now. What I need a new CD to do it? We’re starting to enter that stage where Prince was at, where he could say, ‘Yo, Imma do a show tonight’ and it sells out.”
