Whenever beef arises, 50 Cent isn't too far behind. So, naturally, he gave his thoughts on the whole Meek Mill vs. Drake situation, which he believes is a Nicki-Drake issue underneath it all.
"I think it’s really a Nicki [and] Drake thing going on," Fif said in an interview with St. Louis 1041. "I would think that he would be conscious of Nicki before he would just say something, when he knows Nicki and Drake have a relationship. Like, they’re down with each other. They’re in the same crew. Even if you just heard it randomly you would be talking to her before you say something publicly about it. Obviously she shares the same views, because she hasn’t really responded to it publicly."It should also be noted that Nicki Minaj's ex, Safaree, continues to claim he was her ghostwriter. It's the same charge Drake is facing without any reference tracks or further evidence. However, Safaree is planning to reveal more if Nicki or Meek keeps mentioning him.
Also during the interview, Fif discussed the progression of Lil Wayne and Birdman's rift from the last time he spoke on it.
"It just got crazier than I even imagined it could possibly be between the two of them. They were like father and son relationship… I couldn’t see them actually trying to kill him. The stuff that I hear [going on with Young Thug], I don’t believe that. I can’t believe that he would actually want to kill him."Lastly, since ghostwriting is the topic of the week, 50 reports that he wrote all of his rhymes minus a time where Kanye West gave him a line on "Straight To The Bank." He explained, "One time I took a line [on] ‘Straight To The Bank.’ Because Kanye [did the chorus], while we were just chilling in the studio he said that. And then I copied the sound that he did—but we in the room, we playing around, we writing. That’s different to somebody writing your song."
