50 Cent & Ebro Darden Argue About Who Killed New York Hip Hop

by Daryl Nelson

Last year Hot 97's Ebro Darden accused 50 Cent of ruining New York Hip Hop, because he beefed with everyone in the city and had people beefing with each other.

The two picked up on that conversation when Fif stopped by Ebro in the Morning recently.

50 believes program directors like Ebro were responsible for New York losing status in the game because they didn't promote music from NYC.

"How you gon' mess it up and say I [hurt the New York rap scene]?" 50 asked Ebro.

"You had everyone beefing with you," answered the radio host. "Anybody [who] did a record with [Fat Joe] or [Ja Rule] was beefing with you ... At a time when we could of had unity ... You like to operate from a place of people having problems with you. Even when you came in this building you was like 'This feels uncomfortable because I like being banned from somewhere.'"
You can check out the entire interview below. What are your thoughts? Did 50 hurt New York rap by beefing with everyone and causing a lot of drama within the five boroughs?
