2008 Celtics Address Beef With Ray Allen [VIDEO]

2008-celticsRay Allen won a championship with the Boston Celtics in 2008 and then almost helped them to a couple of more.

But he left Boston for Miami after the 2012 season -- which had ended for the Celtics with a seven-game Eastern Conference finals defeat to the Heat.

If "ring jumping" to Boston's heated rival wasn't enough, Allen apparently ghosted his teammates like Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Rajon Rondo on the way out.

There was a 2008 Celtics reunion last night on Garnett's TNT Area 21 segment.  Allen wasn't there, but he was a big topic of discussion.

"The situation with Ray is very sensitive," Garnett explained. "I think that when we all talked about doing this reunion tour, we were talking about guys who we consider loyal and part of this group. Just being honest, my two cents, when Ray decided to go to the Heat, I felt like he moved on. And he went to pursue another ring, he got another ring, shouts to him. And that's it." I was initially hurt by the whole way everything went down," Pierce followed. "Like, I don't have no beef with none of my teammates or nothing. I was just hurt on how it went down, how we all came together, we talked about it, we talked every day, we hung out all the time, and then when it was time for free agency -- and to each his own with free agency; if Perk wanted to go somewhere, if Rondo (or) you (did), that's cool -- but I thought we formed a brotherhood here in Boston. And just how we carried ourselves not only on the court, but off the court. And I just figured, like, if it was me leaving or KG leaving, I would have been like, 'You know what, Rondo, Perk, Baby, this is what I've been thinking about.' That's what I was hurt by when Ray didn't just at least give us a head's up about it. And then it was just like, to go to the team -- I think I would have taken it better if he had just talked to us about it. I don't know how his relationship was with Doc. It was kind of souring at the time because Avery was getting more minutes and so I could understand all that, but I just felt like we should have had a conversation. And then I think it would have settled over a little more. I don't think it would have been as salty after. Even though it was Miami, we hated Miami, and that was our rival, we were going at it with them, LeBron and all them, I just think if we had all just talked about it, it would have been a little different than it is now. Now it's uncomfortable. I haven't talked to Ray in some years now. And it's just -- it's different."
Rajon Rondo -- who's been critical of Allen in the past -- remained conspicuously silent throughout the segment.

Allen has responded to all the fuss on Facebook.

We're thinking that's not going to make it any better.
