Even before the success of Straight Outta Compton, there's been clamoring for a Tupac biopic.

Projects have come and gone, with none of them really getting off the ground

Producer Randell Emmett just posted a message on Instagram saying he will start shooting the movie Tupac in December. Two weeks ago he put out a casting call for the project.

Tupac's mom Afeni Shakur is listed as an Executive Producer on the movie.

Emmett is known for producing action movies like Lone Survivor, End of Watch and Rambo [2008].

Among those Emmett tagged in his IG posts about Tupac are Entourage boys Mark Wahlberg, Kevin Conley and Jerry Ferrara and also 50 Cent.

What that means, we aren't sure.  But we'll probably find out more about it soon.
