"Time Is Illmatic," which tells the story of Nas's canonical 1994 album, hits theaters and VOD beginning next week.
The documentary comes from producer Erik Parker, a former Vibe editor, and director One9. The project stemmed from a ten year anniversary feature Parker was doing on Illamtic at Vibe, and morphed into a ten year project that finally premiered in April at the Tribeca Film Festival.
In the video below, Parker and One9 discusses the making of "Time Is Illmatic" and Nas's generous participation in the feature, which just fueled their fire to make the best documentary they the could.
