One of the all time legends of music has died.

TMZ is reporting Prince has passed away in his Paisley Park compound in Minnesota early Thursday morning.

Last week, a private jet carrying Prince was forced to make an emergency landing in Illinois because Prince had fallen ill. His reps said it was just a case of the flu, but it now appears it was more serious.

Prince Rogers Nelson sold over 100 million records during his career. He also won seven Grammys and an Academy Award.

He was 57.
