Jay Z and Tidal's $40 million offer to acquire the streaming rights to Prince's catalog has been rebuffed.
The late singer's estate fired off a letter in which they stated they have no interest in having "Roc Nation exploit any of the intellectual property assets of the Estate."
In fact, the estate says when Tidal made Prince's 15 albums available to stream after his death it was in violation of Prince's contract with the streaming service, which they say was only for the Purple One's final album, HitNRun Phase One.
Furthermore, they claim Tidal never paid the $750,000 Prince was owed for the 2015 album's streaming rights.
Expect this to all be in court soon.
