Jason Mitchell, The Actor Who Played Eazy-E, Says Give Rosanne Barr A Break

A few days ago, ABC announced a new show called The Conners which will replace Roseanne. The reboot to the classic sitcom was canceled last month after its former star Roseanne Barr sent a racist tweet.

"Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby= VJ," she wrote about Valerie Jarret, a former advisor to President Barack Obama.

Not only has Barr lost her show since that tweet, but she's been seemingly kicked out of Hollywood.  In a new interview with Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, Barr said she lost it all after the Twitter scandal.

"I've lost everything," she said. "And I regretted it before I lost everything and I said to God: 'I am willing to accept whatever consequences this brings because I know I've done wrong.' I'm willing to accept what the consequences are. And I do. And I have."

Jason Mitchell, the actor who played Eazy-E in the N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton, thinks that people are being way too hard on Barr, and her tweet was actually funny.

"I think it's tough that society has come to a place where, like, we can't even take a joke anymore," he said. "I grew up on Roseanne, and I don't see no wrong on Roseanne ... I want us to all get along, you know what I mean? I think we should all be able to coexist and in the meantime, I'll be able to joke about it because it's funny."

Do you agree with Mitchell?
