Freddie Gibbs was about to take the stage Thursday night in Toulouse, France when he was arrested by the local police.

They were acting on behalf of Austrian authorities who had an European warrant out for Gibbs for an alleged 2015 rape.

The French authorities are currently evaluating the case, and will decide whether to extradite the 33-year old to Austria early next week.

Gibbs's lawyer Scott Leemon (who's also representing Troy Ave in his trying times) issued this statement:

"Freddie Gibbs adamantly denies the allegations that have been levied against Austrian authorities. It makes you wonder why it took almost a year for Austrian officials to bring these charge. Freddie will be fighting the extradition request as these are nothing more than trumped up charges."
